Carson Animation

Based in Manchester, I am a multi-talented artist hailing from London who specializes in stop motion animation, illustration, and music composition. My expertise in stop motion animation has garnered recognition, including the prestigious Shiny Award for Best Animation in 2020 for my work on Unit 22, as well as the RTS Awards for Best Animation in 2022 for my contribution to Allotment. My sound design skills have also been acknowledged with a nomination for Best Sound at the RTS Awards in 2021. 

With 18 years of experience, my portfolio showcases my technical skills and artistic flair through a diverse collection of short films, soundtracks, and model-making projects. During my studies for a BA in Animation, I produced five successful films and graduated with flying colors, earning a 1st.

I specialize in stop motion animation, which involves physically moving objects and capturing them on camera frame by frame. My experience includes working as an animator in the industry and as an educator for stop motion. I specialize in developing captivating animation projects for both educational institutions and private organizations, with a focus on imparting the fundamental principles of stop motion in a captivating manner. It is essential to understand movement and emotion when creating compelling animations, and I teach learners how to express these elements through animation, allowing them to craft their unique worlds and narratives. Additionally, I have extensive knowledge of various filmmaking areas such as design, scriptwriting, camera work, lighting, and more.
