Cosgrove Hall Film Archive
Animation Workshop

Throughout 2023, I have been collaborating with the Cosgrove Hall Film Archive at Waterside in Sale. Together, we conducted animation engagement workshops for groups of individuals in Bury, aimed at teaching new skills and helping them develop their own disciplines through animation. Our goal was to assist participants in bringing their work to life. The resulting artwork was showcased digitally, while the physical pieces were displayed in their own exhibition space at the Bury Art Museum in the late summer of 2023.

During one of our workshops, we collaborated with a group of young individuals. Following the same workshop structure, the participants responded to the theme, which aimed to save the Bury Art Museum from closure threats due to insufficient funding. This provided an amazing opportunity for young individuals to engage with their local community, create artwork with a defined message and focus, and contribute to the preservation of a significant cultural institution.

Allotment has won Best Animation 2022! ‘It feels amazing to have been awarded best Animation. A really wonderful way to say farewell to university and hello to the industry! Infinite thanks to Karla Engström for allowing me to animate her story and for being an incredible person to work alongside. Thank you Manchester School of Art and thank you RTS, let’s see what’s next!‘

Silk Worm was nominated for both the animation and the sound categories for the RTS North West Student Awards 2021!
